The proverb "It takes a village" certainly applies to student success & retention. In Beacon, Advisors are connected to Students to create a network of staff and advising professionals who receive notifications about a student to help guide a their success.
There is a list of the student's Success Network members on their Student Report. When a member is selected, a modal opens to displays their name, role, title, contact information, office location, and office hours. If Scheduling is enabled, student's can schedule meetings here as well.
All users in Beacon have a profile settings area in the menu under their name in the top right corner of the navigation. Those with Peer Advisor role or higher have a few extra fields including office location and office hours.
Advisors who provide an office location will have it displayed on their advisor card and it will be included in any meeting confirmation notices. Advisors are prompted to complete their profile information the first time they log into Beacon, but it can be edited anytime.
If campuses enable the Scheduling feature, advisors can start using it by entering some office hours and meeting preferences. The drag and drop calendar allows advisors to setup recurring blocks of time in which students may schedule meetings with them. Advisors can change these settings at any time.

Students will see a calendar marked with days that the advisor has appointments available. By default, the user is shown the next available appointment. Selecting a day will show the user all the available appointment times on that day. Once a date and time is selected, the user has an option to add a reason for the meeting.
Advisors have two options on how to handle meeting requests. They can use Scheduling Assistant to automatically accept all meeting requests or they can get notice of each request and respond to them individually.
Once an appointment is scheduled, it will appear under the "Meetings" tab in chronological order. Selecting the meeting will open up a modal with meeting details and a link to the Student Report.
If plans change, advisors can cancel a meeting from the meeting details modal. An email will be sent to the student with a reason for the cancellation and a link back to Beacon to reschedule.
